📏 Step 1: Prep Your Table
Wipe down the surface. Measure and cut your contact paper to size. Flip it over and trace your tabletop using the flat edge of a pencil for a custom fit.
🧽 Step 2: Apply the Contact Paper Like a Pro
Spray Windex directly on the table. This allows the sticky side of the contact paper to slide into perfect placement before it sticks permanently—making it beginner-friendly!
🚿 Step 3: Smooth It Out
Once the contact paper is in place, use your squeegee (or even a plastic dustpan!) to push out all the Windex and air bubbles. Go slowly from the center out.
🧼 Step 4: Clean & Seal
Use a dry cloth to clean up any extra liquid and press down the edges. If any corners curl up later, reapply pressure or add a dab of adhesive.
🌟 Final Look: Farmhouse Vibes!
Step back and admire your budget-friendly classroom table makeover! This easy classroom DIY is perfect for upgrading tired furniture—without spending a fortune.

How about removing it? Does it come off easily?
ReplyDeleteHi! Thank you for your question. I have not tried to peel this paper off yet; however, I read the reviews carefully and saw that people were able to take it off using a steamer!
DeleteAmazing post! Is the contact paper dry erase-friendly?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! The beach wood paper I used has ridges on it, so dry erase marker does not work well on it. However, there is a brand called Better Than Paper (which I have used as well) that allows for dry erase markers! Try this link to see their farmhouse paper: https://amzn.to/2YI7LNm Also, there are plain white, dry erase contact paper rolls, too! Thanks again for your question--happy DIY'ing! :)
DeleteHi! I'm from Argentina and I don't know what is WINDEX. Could to tell me what kind of product is it? or what is it for?
ReplyDeleteIt's a fantanstic project!!! Thanks a lot
Viviana Schiel
Hi Viviana, Windex is a brand of glass cleaner. When the glass cleaning product is sprayed on the table, it allows you to slide the contact paper around until you have it exactly where you want it. Then you can use a scraper or squeegee to draw the cleaning fluid out. Then you will have your DIY Farmhouse Table upgrade! I hope that helps? Thank you for reaching out!
